Gold rush
Term 3 gold rush reflection
This term our Integrated Unit was a lot of fun because we went to Sovereign Hill. I researched a building with my partner Lorelei , it was the Clarke Bros. tinsmiths. When we got back we had to make a diorama of the building and on our second tile we made a farm I was worried we wouldn’t finish but we did. Then me and Lorelei coded a sphero to roll down the Main Street of our Sovereign Hill class diorama. We explained what the shops were.
What I learned
Life was very different in the 1850’s .The school we went to at Sovereign Hill really different. It was strict and we had to write with ink pens. I learned that in the mines there would be a water pump to keep the mine from flooding if it rained or miners hit water.
I learned that life on the diggings was very hard for the miners , they had to pay a fee for a gold licence and a lot of miners couldn’t afford it .
The miners followed Peter Lalor and burnt their licences and created the Eureka stockade were they burnt their licences and fought the soldiers. The miners received the right to vote and own land.
I used lots of the P.L.A s . I used courage when I had to attend the school and had to wear the costume because I thought other kids would fun . I used curiosity because I had to ask a lot of questions to find out information for the diorama.
I showed the P.L.A of collaboration because Lorelei had to work together.
